Complaints, abuse and copyright

This page explains how to report something in Nubilux, and what happens afterwards.

What we need to know

Feel free to keep it short, but include:

  • what the matter concerns, and where in the service you saw it,
  • why you believe it is wrong,
  • how we can reach you.

For copyright matters, also include what the work is, where it was originally published, and confirmation that you are entitled to act on behalf of the rights holder.

What happens

  1. You receive confirmation that we have received the report, normally within three working days.
  2. We assess the matter. If the content is a module that could harm users, we disable it first and assess afterwards. This is intentional: the risk of leaving something harmful in place is greater than the inconvenience of taking it down too early.
  3. We respond with what we have done. If the answer is that we take no action, we say why.
  4. If you disagree with the conclusion, you may ask for the matter to be reassessed. A different person will then look at it.

Security flaws

If you find a security flaw, tell us before making it public, so we have time to fix it. We will not take legal action against anyone who searched in good faith, did not extract data about others, and gave us reasonable time to respond.

Do not test on other people's accounts, and do not download data that is not yours.

Complaining to the authorities

If the matter concerns personal data and you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, datatilsynet.no.
